This apprenticeship has been designed for anyone working with children in a ‘playwork’ setting, such as a ‘before and after school club’ or play scheme, and are looking to enhance their skills, or for anyone looking to work in a playwork setting.
The apprenticeship aims to provide learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence required to work in the Playwork sector including how to support children and young people’s play, safeguarding and health and safety.

The apprenticeship programme is delivered within the workplace through various delivery methods including on the job training, mentoring by experienced colleagues and webinars ensuring the development of the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to carry out the job effectively.
