Interpersonal Communication Course

What Will I learn?

Interpersonal communication is at the heart of all care, and effective communication can make a real difference to the individuals' experience of care. This short course is aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of the range of communication skills used in care settings and how the individual practitioner can enhance their approach to customer, improving the communication experience overall.

  • Introduce the candidate to important concepts of interpersonal communication
  • Explore how what we say, the way we say it and why non-verbal behaviours are important
  • Outline some ways the practitioner might use, adapt and enhance their existing skills
  • Outline some ideas for practice with whatever age of customers the practitioner might work with
  • Explore interpersonal communication on a 1:2:1 basis
  • Explore communication with groups of people
