It was a miracle! A SUNNY Sunday morning in August – and didn’t we make the most of it! With friends, family and our four-legged friends we donned our finest walking boots, cameras and smiles and walked a combined 261 miles as part of Busy Bees’ “Around the World Toddle Waddle” to raise money for its 2017 National Charity, Meningitis Now.
Thanks to the stunning weather, enthusiastic and encouraging organisers and picture-perfect scenery, thirty happy walkers stepped a combined total of 261 miles and raised over £400 in the process, ALL of which will help fund ground-breaking research to help prevent meningitis and support those currently suffering from the disease.
A big shout out must go to Karen Mackay and her wonderful mum. Karen opened up her home and grounds whilst her mum catered for the masses with THE most delicious home-made cakes and pots of tea for a small donation to the cause.
Prize winners for those who found the most clues and created the best social media footage will be announced later this week. It has to be said, some were certainly more competitive than others!
Our steps will be added to those already accumulated by Busy Bees nurseries, who have taken part in Toddle Waddles up and down the country to cover a combined distance of 24,901 miles, equating to the entire circumference of the earth, raising funds as they go.
A huge THANK YOU and well done to everyone who organised and took part in the walk and fed us when we needed fuel and a comfy chair! - It was yet another Training day to remember!
